Electrical Panel & Wiring Upgrades

If your home still has its original electrical panel, your safety could be on the line. Certain older panels — especially Zinsco (also sold as GTE-Sylvania) and Federal Pacific Electric (FPE) Stab-Lok — are known fire hazards: a breaker can fail to trip during an overload or short circuit, sometimes while it looks switched off but is still carrying current, which can lead to overheating and fire. Installed widely in homes built from the 1950s through the 1980s, these panels are routinely flagged by electricians, home inspectors, and insurers. If you have one — or you’re not sure what’s in your panel — it needs to be inspected. This isn’t a maintenance item to put off; it’s a safety issue to address now.

Beyond safety, older homes were never wired for today’s electrical load — EV chargers, heat pumps, modern appliances, home offices. If your breakers trip often or you’re planning to add big circuits, a panel or service upgrade keeps your home safe and ready.

What we do

  • Electrical panel replacements and upgrades
  • Service upgrades (e.g., 100A to 200A)
  • Rewiring for older homes, including aluminum-wiring concerns
  • Adding circuits and capacity for new appliances or additions
  • Whole-home electrical safety assessments

If you suspect you have a hazardous panel, don’t wait for a warning sign. We’ll inspect it promptly and tell you plainly what needs to happen — in most cases, replacing the panel is the only way to bring your home back to a safe, modern standard. We handle the permits and inspection and back every job with our 5-year warranty.
